Bonderite NT-1 is an advanced phosphate free coating process which offers multiple advantages over traditional iron phosphating for the protection of steel, zinc, and aluminium surfaces. Bonderite NT-1 creates an ultra-thin surface coating which provides exceptional corrosion protection and excellent bonding with paint.
Bonderite NT-1 is an environmentally-friendly treatment, being free of phosphates and containing no regulated heavy metals and no volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The treatment may be applied by spray or immersion and is compatible with all types of paint.
Bonderite NT-1 is a cost-effective replacement for iron phosphating for many areas of manufacture including metal forgings, windows and doors, office and lawn furniture, HVAC filters, and white goods.
The process is economical and straightforward. The cleaned components are rinsed with plain and deionised water, the Bonderite NT-1 conversion coating applied, and the work is further rinsed with deionised water. Depending on the paint system to be applied, drying may be performed. The treated surface will accept all types of paint and provide excellent protection. Conversion takes just 20-180 seconds at 20-40C.
