Henkel’s Duridine 3990 is a versatile cleaner, degreaser for steel, zinc coated steel and aluminium. On iron and steel it also simultaneously generates a uniform iron phosphate coating creating a uniform protective surface . It creates a thick and uniform iron phosphate layer which imparts high corrosion resistance and provides an excellent key for paints and other organic coatings.
Duridine 3990 is a liquid product suitable for spray and high-pressure application. Its advanced formulation allows spraying to be carried out at temperatures above 40C, although foam may be a problem at lower temperatures. It combines a powerful degreasing action with phosphating surface protection and, with its new conversion coating accelerator, bestows excellent corrosion resistance to the component.
Formulated from acidic phosphates and a cocktail of highly efficient surfactants, Duridine 3990 leaves behind a converted iron phosphate layer with a coating weight of 0.4 to 0.8g/m2. When used alongside products containing fluoride, Duridine 3990 will produce conversion coatings on aluminium and hot-dip galvanised steel surfaces.
