P3-Prevox 7400 is an aqueous solution providing instant temporary corrosion protection to steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Applied by spray or immersion, it passivates the metal surface for storage in a closed environment such as a warehouse.
P3-Prevox 7400 is a sensible addition to water used for leak testing of hollow components such as tanks, manifolds, radiators and cooling systems. It should also be added to the cooling water used in engine bench tests or for induction hardening, in all cases to inhibit corrosion resulting from the water.
Corrosion protection is further enhanced by the use of deionised water instead of tap water, and if treated items are stored in air of low relative humidity and shielded against exposure to weather.
P3-Prevox 7400 is an economical additive to rinse and test waters, being used at a concentration of 5-20g/lite on steel and 15-30g/litre on cast iron. It can be applied at a wide range of temperatures from 15-80C.
