Petroferm AXAREL 6100 Precision Cleaner is a colourless liquid, designed for general purpose cleaning, such as the removal of oils, lubricating fluids, metal cuttings and fines prior to painting, bonding, plating or coating. It may also be used for soil removal prior to machining, grinding or polishing of substrates. With specific applications such as final cleaning prior to packaging and cleaning prior to assembly of component parts, and it is often used to maintain cleanliness of parts and equipment in processing substrates.
AXAREL 6100 is a blend of aliphatic hydrocarbons, giving low-odour, minimum residue, with a broad range of solvency. It is non-aqueous and suitable for immersion or hand-wipe cleaning applications. It evaporates quickly leaving no residue on surfaces to interfere with the processing of parts. This product is recommended where a higher flash point and slower evaporation are specified, and is a direct replacement for 1,1,1-trichloroethane and other low flash point flammable materials.
Suitable for use at ambient temperature, in a variety of commercially available cleaning equipment, AXAREL 6100 Precision Cleaner can be used in ultrasonic systems, spray-under-immersion system, recirculating-type parts washers and immersion/soak thanks. It can also be modified as a cold immersion cleaner by removing the heat sources and using the ultrasonic tank as an immersion bath.
AXAREL 6100 is compatible with virtually all metals including aluminium, magnesium, carbon steels, stainless steels, nickel-containing alloy, cobalt-containing alloys and titanium alloys, plus many types of plastics and elastomers.
